As the first Web Service offered by Symyx Technologies, the Symyx Available Chemicals Directory (ACD) Web Service provides a secure foundation for accessing up-to-date chemical sourcing data.
Real-time distribution of ACD data
The Symyx ACD Web Service (https://acdws.discoverygate.com) provides platform-independent access to the most current Symyx ACD supplier catalog
data. The Web Service can be accessed directly by customer-built applications or can be aggregated along with other Web Services by a customer-built service, enabling unlimited, real-time distribution of ACD data to internal applications and databases that integrate with
existing laboratory workflows.
Industry-standard chemical sourcing
reference
Used by more scientists than any other supplier database worldwide, Symyx ACD contains more than 605,000 structures representing more than 1.7 million products and 3.4 million packages available for purchase, in bulk and research quantities.
Secure Data Transmission
Web Service communication is based on XML messages that follow the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) standard in combination with secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) to convey information securely across the World Wide Web. Web Services Description Language (WSDL) describes the methods provided by the Web Service which can be used to query and retrieve information from Symyx and 3rd party databases.
This diagram depicts the flow of data from Symyx Web Services to customer-built services or applications.
The Symyx Integrating Data Source dynamically represents multiple derived hierarchies providing real-time updated views of data and enabling scientists to view data in the way they want, independent of the underlying data organization in a data source.
