This course is designed for MDL application developers and administrators. Participants learn how to customize MDL® Draw via the XML configuration file and access the MDL Draw interfaces through Java and/or Visual Basic programs.

| Course Objectives |
|
- Introduction: Course objectives, overview, program installation and configuration, initialization files, and developer resources
- Customization: XML configuration, customization of the MDL Draw user interface, modification of user preferences and templates
- Extending MDL Draw Functionality: Adding 3D structural display, allowing for chemistry perception using MDL Chemistry Rules Interface, adding user-defined functionality
- Java Components: Features, custom applications
- ActiveX Control: COM containers,
access to chemical drawing in custom applications.
- Web Applications: Use of chemical structure display and editing within web pages.

| Prerequisites |
Familiarity with a structured programming language. Some experience using MDL Draw or ISIS/Draw would be useful.
