Isy Goldwasser Isy Goldwasser
Chief Executive Officer
Isy Goldwasser was named Chief Executive Officer of Symyx Technologies, Inc. in 2007 and has served as President of Symyx since 1998. He became the first employee of Symyx Technologies in 1995 as Vice President, Corporate Development. Mr. Goldwasser is a named inventor on 28 U.S., European, German and Canadian patents. Mr. Goldwasser received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
 
 
Rex S. Jackson   Rex S. Jackson
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Rex Jackson joined Symyx in 2007, after serving as General Counsel and in other senior management positions with several technology companies, including most recently Avago Technologies Limited and Synopsys Inc. At Synopsys, Mr. Jackson served as General Counsel in 2003-2006 and as interim chief financial officer in 2005-2006. He has a B.A. in political science from Duke University and a J.D. from Stanford University Law School.
 
 
Henry Weinberg   W. Henry Weinberg, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Weinberg joined Symyx in 1996 with the mandate to create the technology. He had spent the first 24 years of his career on the faculty of the California Institute of Technology and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Weinberg obtained a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Carolina, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
 
 
Tim Campbell   Timothy Campbell
President, Symyx Software
Timothy Campbell brings significant expertise in software business management and leadership. He previously served as president & chief executive officer of Steelwedge Software, an enterprise software company, and in senior roles at Industri-Matematik International and at ePIT Systems.
 
 
Dave Dorsett   David Dorsett
Senior Vice President, Symyx Software Strategy and Architecture
David Dorsett has over 20 years of experience in the architecture, design and development of analysis and data management software for scientists in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries. He joined Symyx in February of 1999. Prior to joining Symyx, Mr. Dorsett spent nearly 13 years at MDL Information Systems, serving last as Director of Biology Products, with numerous previous positions in product development, marketing and consulting, serving the world-wide pharmaceutical and agrochemical research industry. He holds degrees in chemistry and business from the University of California at Berkeley.
 
 
Trevor Heritage   Trevor Heritage, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Science, Symyx Software
Trevor Heritage joined Symyx in 2007 when Symyx acquired MDL information Systems. He brings extensive scientific and pharmaceutical research experience as well as knowledge of biopharma workflows and computational modeling. Previously, Dr. Heritage was senior vice president, corporate officer and general manager of Tripos Inc.'s discovery informatics business. He has a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Reading, England, and he began his career with Shell Research Ltd in the UK.
 
 
Kevin Cronin   Kevin G. Cronin
Senior Vice President, Symyx Sales
Kevin Cronin joined Symyx in 2001 focusing on sales and business development for Symyx Tools. With the emergence of Symyx's three complementary offerings, Mr. Cronin fostered the development of and now leads a corporate sales team which brings Symyx Software, Tools and Research offerings to the global Life Science, Chemicals, Energy and Consumer Products markets. Prior to Symyx, Kevin spent 15 years developing and implementing discovery informatics systems for the pharmaceutical industry as a scientist and business leader at MDL Information Systems. Kevin received an M.S. in Chemistry from UC Berkeley, and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle.
 
 
Gerard Abraham   Gerard Abraham
President, Symyx Tools
Gerard Abraham joined Symyx in 2007, assuming leadership for the global Symyx Tools organization. He served most recently in several senior positions in the U.S. and overseas at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., including as president of its process systems and process instruments divisions. Previously, he was with HP and Matra-Harris. Mr. Abraham brings significant experience developing and scaling instrument businesses in global markets. He has a B.A. from the University of Paris, France.
 
 
Richard Boehner   Richard Boehner
President, Symyx Research
Richard Boehner joined Symyx in 2007 to lead the company's business development efforts in the chemicals and energy industries. Previously, Mr. Boehner served in corporate development and strategic planning roles at Sun Chemical Corporation, MacDermid Incorporated, Great Lakes Chemical and Allied Signal. Mr. Boehner has a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Colorado State University.
