Jobs MDL Culture Apply here	Location: International - United Kingdom Job Title: NE Professional Services Manager Job Code: #01075 Last Updated: 10-Aug-2001 Description: The NE Professional Services Manager is the main point of contact for clients and the Regional Sales-force for consulting and project activities in MDL's Northern region (UK, Scandinavia and Finland). The Professional Services Manager's purpose is to deliver, either directly or via reporting Project Managers and Consultants, revenue from client projects in a timely, cost effective and high quality way. The scope of this role covers the full range of pre-sales support through implementation to project/milestone acceptance and ensuring billing of service and expenses is achieved in a timely manner. Responsibilities: Supporting the Regional Sales-force in project pre-sales activities to ensure effective and profitable closure of consulting and project opportunities Negotiating scope, rates and timing of client projects Negotiating the appropriate quality levels for full life cycle projects Raising Consulting Contracts and Project Schedules defining the scope, daily or milestone rates, and delivery targets for work requested by clients Ensuring that Professional Services Standard Operating Procedures and the MDL Project Methodology are applied to projects in an appropriate manner by the implementation teams Applying project risk assessment and contingency planning Leading, mentoring, and line management of up to six Project Managers and Consultants Ensuring that internal resources are effectively occupied and that external resources are planned for, justified, managed and applied when appropriate Forecasting the Regional Consulting and Project business by quarter to both the Regional Sales Director and European Professional Services Director on a regular basis Setting objectives in line with company policy for regionally reporting consultants and project managers Requires approximately 50% travel Minimum Requirements: 2-4 years experience managing the planning, delivery and implementation of custom information management systems into the Life Science arena Proven track record of on-time/profitable project delivery against quota Chemistry or other life science degree Outstanding customer interaction skills Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and/or material science discovery processes Desired Requirements: Good communication skills Ability to work well in a team Fluent in English Excellent PC knowledge Knowledge of client/server and n-tier computing models Experience and knowledge of strategic selling methods Contact: To apply for a position at MDL, please send your Curriculum Vitae with a cover letter specifying the position and job code to, Attention: Human Resources, E-mail: cbryois@mdli.com Fax: +41 21 601 20 56 Mail: MDL Information Systems, Inc.
