Description:
As a member of the Sales team in Europe, you will represent MDL's content and content related products and services to prospects and customers in the Northern Region. We are looking for a self-motivated and highly organized individual who will be responsible for managing these products for existing MDL Accounts, working with MDL Account Managers, growing sales revenues by selling to new customers and upgrading existing licenses. This position requires at least 2 years successful experience with selling scientific software solutions to the life science and R&D; market and is based in Camberley, reporting to the Northern Europe Sales Director.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for identifying, qualifying, and acquiring new business, as well as maintaining current customer relationships
- Generate new license revenue (an assigned quota)
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations mapping MDL's content and content solutions to customer problems
- Provide information on customers' needs for chemical information solutions to the various product development groups (Beilstein and MDL)
- Requires approximately 60% travel
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-4 years experience selling information management systems or related high tech software and/or database products into the Life Science arena
- Proven track record of delivering revenue against quota
- Chemistry degree
- Outstanding customer interaction skills
- Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and/or material science discovery processes
Desired Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Fluent in English
- Excellent PC knowledge
- Knowledge of chemistry and client/server computing
- Experience and knowledge of strategic selling methods
